But don’t forget that February 2017 is not only about Valentine's Day, it's also the time when you can sample the superb gastronomic products that the Paris International Agricultural Show has in store for you! To find out more, read on. But first, let's talk about love!

A romantic stroll in Paris

No romantic stroll in Paris would be complete without a visit to the Museum of Romantic Life which, happily, will be open on Valentine's Day. Located in the Nouvelle Athènes neighbourhood, this charming museum evokes the spirit of the Romantic movement of the early 19th century. On the ground floor you will find various objects that once belonged to the novelist and memoirist George Sand, including her paintings, drawings, jewellery, sculptures, and furniture. On the first floor await the paintings of the Dutch artist Ary Scheffer and some of his contemporaries.

Another must-see while embarked upon a romantic stroll in Paris is the I Love You Wall, located in the Place des Abbesses on the hill of Montmartre. You will always find lovers and curious tourists admiring this work of art, with its 40 m² of enamelled lava tiles filled with the words ‘I love you’ written over 300 times in more than 200 different languages. Go and connect your hearts with those of the whole world and find inspiration.

Leaving the I Love You Wall, you might want to head back down the slopes of Montmartre to see the Moulin-Rouge, situated on the Boulevard de Clichy in the 18th arrondissement. This cabaret is famous all over the world, in large part due to its French Cancan, danced to a frenzied rhythm by young women dressed in a particularly engaging way.

How about a walk along the banks of the Seine? The river offers an irresistible invitation to romance. Which route to follow? Start by heading to the Tour de l’Horloge (clock tower), and cross the Pont Neuf before going along the Quai de Conti. Then take the Pont des Arts and walk along the Quai des Tuileries before crossing the Jardin des Tuileries. The Place de la Concorde awaits you at the exit from the garden and from there you can wander onto the Avenue des Champs-Élysées.

The Paris International Agricultural Show

This year, the theme of the Paris International Agricultural Show is ‘Farming: a passion, a set of ambitions’. Nearly 4,000 animals and 1000 exhibitors await you from February 25th to March 5th 2017 at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre. Training, crafts, knowledge and innovations will be shared with professionals and the public via four sectors: crops and plants; livestock and livestock breeding; culinary products from the regions of France, overseas and the world; and agricultural services and professions.
