Paris La Défense, a multifaceted district
The leading European business district called La Défense, located in the communes of Courbevoie, Puteaux and Nanterre, is well known throughout the world. It hosts the tallest and most famous towers in France, rising majestically above a modern landscape city. However, La Défense is not just an office district; it’s also a thriving and vibrant neighbourhood of nearly 42,000 inhabitants.
What is perhaps less known is that Paris La Défense is also a district-wide venue where, every year, major events such as Summer Paris La Défense are held. As usual, this diverse and welcoming festival will transform the Parvis de la Defense into an incredible green space, a place of life and entertainment that’s also a great attraction for tourists.
Paris Summer La Défense; 5,600 m2 of relaxation and lively fun
For the six weeks of the festival, La Défense lays out the green carpet and you are invited. This year the theme is urban greenery, hence the Garden Parvis name. Come along and have the pleasure of discovering an eclectic programme of events including creative and original thematic workshops, sporting activities including vertical races and rugby matches, games such as table football, free live concerts, DJ sets, artistic happenings and more; not forgetting the firefighters' ball on July 13th. There will also be plenty of eating options so you can enjoy gourmet, organic and refreshing breaks, as you wish. Everyone is welcome, whether residents, employees, students or tourists, to see and enjoy La Défense as the district casts aside its staid image and throws a party!
