Categories : What to do in Paris, published on : 10/19/13
Famous shows in Paris are presented with astonishing regularity. Rarely, however, does a show come along which promises to reawaken and revitalise an entire entertainment genre. Opening on December 10th at the renowned Theatre Comedia is a presentation destined to do precisely that. The Mugler Follies will redefine the cabaret revue and bring this recently neglected form of theatrical show hurtling into the 21st century in an exhilarating burst of spectacle, light, colour, music and daring. Truly a feast for all the senses; which is exactly what we try to provide for our guests at the Hotel Eden.
Famous shows in Paris on the cutting edge of creativity
Mugler Follies is conceived and designed by the renowned fashion designer Manfred Thierry Mugler. You may know the name from the body conscious power suits which clinched his reputation in the 1980s, but Mugler is a man of many talents. A student of dance and interior design, he came to Paris at the age of twenty to join a dance company, but was sidetracked into fashion design. He launched his own label in 1974 and later branched into photography and perfume creation. His fashion shows became staged artistic presentations and he found himself doing increasing amounts of design work for the stage and then becoming a stage director.
Among the famous shows in Paris, the new Mugler Follies recommended by the Hotel Eden
In Mugler Follies this multi-disciplinarian embraces the revue format, a mode of expression which provides the greatest possible freedom for his wide artistic palette. The theme of the show is a young woman in search of her inner balance. It features all original music and song compositions and a cast of dancers, acrobats, singers, comedians and models. All of this is drawn together by the extraordinary creative vision of Mugler in a breathtaking panoply of stunning design, eroticism, technology and light which enfolds the audience in a swirling emotional interplay. By turns beautiful, audacious, daring and slyly humorous, this show will live on as long afterwards in your memory as a stay at the Hotel Eden.
